Personnel capacity

3 + 12 troops

The M20 carries a complete infantry element in one protected platform. A driver, commander, and gunner operate the vehicle while 12 dismounts travel in the rear troop compartment.

The layout keeps the section together from movement to deployment, supporting faster arrival and coordinated dismounting at the objective.

Ballistic protection

STANAG 4569 — Level IV

STANAG 4569 defines protection levels for occupants of logistic and light armoured vehicles. Level IV ballistic testing uses a 14.5 × 114 mm API/B32 armour-piercing incendiary projectile at a nominal impact velocity of 911 ± 20 m/s—equivalent to an engagement distance of 200 m.

Blast protection is classified separately as 4a and 4b: a 10 kg TNT-equivalent anti-tank mine beneath any wheel position or beneath the centre of the hull, respectively.

Crew survivability

Mine-resistant by design

The armoured lower hull is shaped to deflect blast energy away from the protected crew compartment. This mine-resistant geometry is central to the M20 MRAP concept.

Roof-mounted, energy-absorbing troop seats help isolate occupants from shocks and vibration, while run-flat tyre inserts support continued mobility after tyre damage.
