President Vučić in Nikinci: We Are Accelerating the Modernization of the Armed Forces
President Aleksandar Vučić attended the capability demonstration of land and air unmanned platforms at the Armament Testing Center in Nikinci, where the Draft Strategy for the Robotization of the Serbian Armed Forces was presented.
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović, attended the capability demonstration of land and air unmanned platforms at the Armament and Military Equipment Testing Center in Nikinci.
The Draft Strategy for the Robotization of the Serbian Armed Forces was presented, containing plans for the development and equipping with modern assets. The document, in addition to the assets demonstrated today, encompasses and anticipates the development of numerous other systems in the upcoming period.
President Aleksandar Vučić expressed satisfaction with what was seen at Nikinci and announced the accelerated modernization of the Serbian Armed Forces. You saw something you have never been able to see in our country before. We watched, for the first time, the Obad, Vrapac, and Pegaz systems guiding our Orao aircraft, which flawlessly hit their targets. Now we can engage targets both at night and during the day, very precisely.
At the same time, we are striving to develop our own UAVs in cooperation with the private sector — with multiple companies — but our Military Technical Institute is already producing new solutions, as is the Technical Test Center, President Vučić stated.
The state and military leadership at the Nikinci range was shown the joint operation of remotely piloted aircraft and manned aircraft, as well as the engagement of unmanned ground systems that have been introduced into the Serbian Armed Forces. Systems under development were also presented, on which experts from the Military Technical Institute are working in cooperation with domestic defense industry companies and private companies from that sector.
The demonstration included attack runs and firing from the modernized Orao aircraft in coordination with the Pegaz UCAV, firing from the Miloš V1 unmanned platform armed with a 64mm Zolja rocket launcher, 7.62mm machine gun, and 40mm revolver grenade launcher, and the Miloš V2 unmanned platform armed with a 12.7mm machine gun. Additionally, PASARS systems from final serial production demonstrated engagement on a simulated drone swarm.
