President Vučić at 'Maneuvers 2022' Exercise: We Have Significantly Improved Our Capabilities

The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić attended today, at the Pasuljanske Livade range, part of the activities of the joint exercise 'Maneuvers 2022', within which the training readiness of the reserve component of the 3rd Land Forces Brigade was being verified.

President Vučić, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović, had the opportunity to witness the high level of capability of professional Armed Forces members and reserve personnel in executing live-fire exercises with infantry, artillery, and armored unit weapons, as well as from assets of the development program of our defense industry.

After touring the exercise activities and a meeting with defense industry representatives, President Vučić praised the reserve component members of the Serbian Armed Forces and assessed that they had performed their tasks very well.

You saw part of the new armament and part of what we are putting into the system, which is not always easy and simple. We are particularly working on drones and arming drones. We are now in a specific situation — that's why this meeting was held — because we have to produce everything ourselves. We no longer have anywhere to import anything from — even what we pay for in the West, they delay delivery for two years. They can afford to. And what we paid for in the East can't fly in, because no one will let it. All good friends and brothers... Only Serbia must not have weapons... So we must dedicate ourselves to ourselves and produce enough weapons, tools, and ammunition.

This was a short but not easy meeting. We will continue with meetings; by New Year's we must have a complete inventory of assets in all factories, and before that we will focus only on capital and what improves our military industry, said President Vučić. He pointed out the importance of modernization, to move beyond the technological framework of the 1980s and 1990s. We will invest much more, but I won't be wrong if I say that we have changed quite a lot and our capabilities and possibilities have been significantly improved.
