New Combat Vehicles and Armament for the Serbian Armed Forces

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Dr. Nebojša Stefanović attended the signing of contracts between the Ministry of Defense and the companies Zastava Arms and Zastava TERVO from Kragujevac for the procurement of military equipment and armaments for the Serbian Armed Forces.

Minister Stefanović assessed that this is the best way to utilize domestic knowledge, employ domestic companies, and ensure that our soldiers receive modern armament and equipment.

Today we are contracting the procurement of new modular rifles for the Serbian Armed Forces produced by Zastava Arms, which will be equipped with modern optical sights from Teleoptik-Žiroskopi and new ammunition developed by our company Prvi Partizan. We have also continued investments in our companies that produce modern armored transporters, said Minister Stefanović.

He specified that today's contracts include the purchase of the new MRAP 6x6 off-road armored vehicle, which will enter the Serbian Armed Forces' armament next year.

Additionally, our Prva Petoletka from Trstenik has developed the prototype and produced the zero series of the artillery-rocket system for PASARS, which will also be one of the procurement priorities of the Ministry of Defense next year, said the Minister.

Stefanović emphasized that he is pleased that this is only the beginning of a large number of projects for the procurement of modern equipment and armaments for the Serbian Armed Forces. 'And that is modern new-generation equipment produced by the domestic defense industry, because that is the strategic vision of the President and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić and the strategic commitment of the Ministry of Defense,' Stefanović stressed.
