Military Exercise 'Fire Shield' 2022

The exercise of a reinforced tactical group executing a defensive operation in nighttime conditions, 'Fire Shield 2022' at Pasuljanske Livade, held in the presence of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, demonstrated the decisiveness, proficiency, fire capabilities, and joint action of Land Forces, Air Force and Air Defense, and Special Forces units in responding to challenges, risks, and threats to our country's security.

The final phase of the multi-day exercise, involving more than 1,000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and around 100 combat vehicles, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Dr. Nebojša Stefanović and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović.

Activities at the Pasuljanske Livade range began with the engagement of units from the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the 72nd Special Operations Brigade in blocking, splitting, and neutralizing an infiltrated enemy group. The support platoon from the infantry company, acting as a company fire group, occupied a reserve firing position with three new MRAP terrain vehicles and one command vehicle due to the threat of a possible attack.

Air defense forces then engaged the spotted enemy aircraft using the Šilo missile system and the PASARS artillery-rocket system with S-2M missiles. A group of enemy low-flying helicopters was then detected, and the PASARS air defense battery was tasked with neutralizing them. After the appearance of a second group of low-flying aircraft, the Pantsir S-1 system battery engaged with its guns.

The commander of our forces then ordered the brigade rocket group of self-propelled multiple rocket launchers OGANJ and PLAMEN-S to engage. The Serbian Armed Forces artillery action continued with the use of 122mm self-propelled howitzers, which opened fire on the enemy in the so-called MRSI (Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact) mode.
